Lake Pointe Owlery

On August 11, 2008, we became the proud new owners of another home. Now we have the joy of paying two mortgages (GASP!). I am not sure what that means, but Mommy and Daddy always roll their eyes and swoon whenever they mention it. I guess that's not a good thing.

But I can't tell because this new park and playground that my parents bought for me is AWESOME! There's a gentle slope of soft, bouncy grass. It has wonderfully fragant fields of thyme and lavender (I love to pull off a stalk and hold it to my nose- herbs are wonderful things!). The driveway is not boring poured concrete but instead is made from gravel that's full of really interesting rocks. There is two apple trees that produce Gravenstein apples- perfect for pies and cider. This new park has an inside area with gorgeous wood floors and a fun staircase for climbing. My parents must really love me to buy me my own park and playground. Cool!

On August 12th, we went to the Lakepointe Owlery (that's the park's name) to celebrate with a picnic. Gran, Grandmimi, her friend Pam, and Auntee Lynn all came along to each bagette, brie, plums, cracker, and Grandmimi's homemade goat cheese. They drank something called champagne, which is yellow, smells wonderful, and has lots of little tiny bubbles in it. Daddy let me try a drop on his fingetip- YUM!

Speaking of bubbles, that just happens to be my favorite past time. I can ask for it by name now, "Bubble!" and daddy gets out the soap solution and the magic bubble wand. We blew lots of bubbles at the picnic. The grass was so soft that the bubbles actually stayed around on the ground. Skye and I were both fascinated by them. (Denali was too pre-occupied with the food to notice any bubbles).

The bubble picture is simply wonderful! A great way to announce your new house- front door shots are the best. Love, Gran

What a wonderful park and playground! I also love bubbles and I have a song for you!

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
In the wine (in the wine)
Make me happy (make me happy)
Make me feel fine (make me feel fine)

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
Make me warm all over
With a feeling that I'm gonna
Love you till the end of time

So here's to the golden moon
And here's to the silver sea
And mostly here's a toast
To you and me

So here's to the ginger lei
I give to you today
And here's a kiss
That will not fade away
