After we exhausted ourselves chasing aorund the tent, daddy got the idea of a Sound of Music sing-along. I already know some of the music: "So Long, Farewell", "Eidelweiss", and "Do-Re-Me" are trusted components of my falling alseep mix. But I had never seen the movie. Daddy put on the DVD and set the audio to "subtitles". He skipped ahead to the singing parts and we could read the lyrics as the played out along the bottom of the screen. Daddy held me, swaying to the music and we almost all the songs! It was great. I really love singing and dancing.
I think I know what daddy and I will be doing for the Family Follies this October. We want to share our love for this timeless classic with everyone. Maybe we can get them all to join in, too! The picture to the right is the ampitheatre at the new Lake Pointe house. We will get it cleaned up before the reunion weekend and it will be a perfect spot to enjoy each other's talent (or lack there of!)

A Sound of Music sing-a-long would be an Ada favorite!!! The ampitheatre is a perfect location- by the way Gran, Ada and Granmimi are already working on our show stopping performance :)
In the event may family members do not know the lyrics to our favorite music - I have included the do-re-mi lyrics!
So lets start at the very beginning Sophie!
Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with A-B-C
When you sing you begin with do-re-mi
Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
[Maria:]
Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti
[spoken]
Let's see if I can make it easy
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh)
I love the music- it is my favorite score and especially the songs you have selected. You look well adorned in your most recent photo. Gran loves scarves and jewelry- someday when you come to stay at Spring Creek, we'll have fun playing with hundreds of pieces! Love, Gran
