Mommy and me watching the robins
We awoke this morning to playful chirping and fluttering right outside our window. We amazed to discover a small flock of robins had invaded our crabapple tree to feast on the remaining berries. Robins are common in Iowa, but are migratory birds and reside in the state from March to October. In fact, seeing a robin is the first sign of Spring's arrival. Somehow I doubt we are in store for a very early Spring! The guidebook says that robins can be see uncommonly in Winter here.
Oh well. It seems we have some early birds here. And the early bird gets the worm (or berry!)

Sophie,
When I read your blog about the Red Robins it reminded me of a very old song- but a fun song to add to your list: Enjoy!
When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob-Bob Bobbin' Along
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along, along
There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts throbbin' his old sweet song
Wake up, wake up you sleepy head
Get up, get out of your bed
Cheer up, cheer up the sun is red
Live, love, laugh and be happy
What if I were blue, now I'm walking through, walking through the fields of flowers
Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours
I'm just a kid again doing what I did again, singing a song
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin'
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along
There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts throbbin'
There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts a throbbin' his old sweet song
Wake up, wake up you sleepy head
Why don't you get up, get up, get out of bed, cheer up
Live, love, laugh and be happy
What if I were blue, now I'm walking through fields of flowers
Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours
I'm just a kid again, doing what I did again, singing a song
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin'
When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along
Along, along, along, along, along.
