Playing with my sisters

We had another big snowstorm here this weekend- looks like I get to have a white Christmas on my first try! While the snow started falling, mommy and my sisters gathered on the floor by the fire to play. Denali is very kind to me- she lets me pull her ears and grab her face. And she just lies there and takes it. What an amazing patience!

Skye is much more wary of my grasping hands. She is perfectly happy to curl up under my chair when daddy reads the bedtime stories and she still loves to kiss me on the back of my head. But when I reach for her to pet her she pulls away. I guess I grabbed and pulled her hair a couple of times and she got skittish. But I still love her very much and hope that she is willing to play with me in the future when I learn to play more gentle!

Sophie,
You'll have to try and ski on all that new fallen snow! The pictures are wonderful. This last weekend Gran, Aunt Jenny and I went with your cousin Laura to Princeton and New York City. It was lovely and we can't wait to take you, Harper and soon to be born Kate on future trips to the city- after all you are all uptown girls. In honor of your beautiful snow fall and your wonderful sisters we must include another song for your playlist-
This song reminds me of New York City. As we walked down Fifth Avenue there were bell ringers, and windows decorated, people playing and singing carols, and a beautiful huge Christmas tree that you would really love. So our song for today is a song that was introduced in a movie in 1951 (a Bob Hope movie) and the song was recorder by Bing Crosby.
"Silver Bells"
Christmas makes you feel emotional
It may bring parties or thoughts devotional
Whatever happens or what may be,
Here is what Christmas time means to me.

City sidewalk, busy sidewalks
dressed in holiday style.
In the air there's
a feeling of Christmas.

Children laughing, people passing,
meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner you'll hear:

Silver bells, silver bells,
It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,
soon it will be Christmas day.

City street lights,
even stop lights,
blink a bright red and green,
As the shoppers rush home
with their treasures.

Hear the snow crunch,
see the kids bunch,
This is Santa's big scene,
And above all this bustle you'll hear:

Silver bells, silver bells,
It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,
soon it will be Christmas day.
