Laura and Tomatoes
It's late summer in Iowa, which means the harvest is peaking! Our garden fell apart this year (although our basil is having its best year ever- go figure), but Granmimi kept up her work and her garden is AWESOME! Laura was visiting this week so we went over and picked a basketfull of ripe, yummy tomatoes. Then we sat down and proceeded to eat them, sucking that nectar of summer until we were stuffed!
Thanks, Granmimi!

Swimming
we went to the Coralville Pool on Sunday. It was totally awesome. They have a zero-entry shallow end like a lake or beach and warm, clear water. They have really cool fountains and slides. I was laughing the whole time. We definitely dont go there enough. Daddy even got to ride on the two big-person slides, which he says are really fun. I liked watching him come down the slide and make a big splash when he landed- I though that was so funny!
In other news, tomorrow is my last day at Apple Tree daycare! As of Thursday I am starting preschool at Montessori in Coralville. I will have a regular school schedule, which means Christmas, Spring, and Summer vacations. This means I will have several weeks with nothing to do but play with my Grandmas!
I will miss my friends from Apple Tree, but, as I told daddy yesterday, I will probably make new friends. I will miss Reagan most of all, but at least I will see her at ballet class. Here's some pictures of us at her party:

I love corn . . . .and butter
The best thing about August in Iowa is all the wonderful sweet corn. More than we can possibly eat, but we'll try. Daddy likes to barbeque it in its husks- just throws it on the grill. Then I use Boppy's Butter Brieght to spread the butter on the corn. I don't mind "cleaning" the spatula afterwards:
I am so excited! Uncle Kurt arrives in 2 days and Cousin Laura will be here next week! Here's a photo of me with my cousins, playing at Alisal:
And daddy hanging me upside doiwn. Maybe he's trying to get the butter out of me!

Ballet Dancing
Just like Angelina, I love ballet! I just finished my first summer-long class with my two best friends, Katie I and Reagan. We held hands the last 10 minutes of class and that made our teacher kinda cross. She wanted us to dance indicidually but we wanted to run around while linked up. You might say we had an "artistic difference". That's art!
Here's a video of me dancing at the library. It was the end of their summer reading program and we all had a big dance party, leading a conga line out of the library and into the ped mall!
And speaking of art, here's a poster that our friends at day care made to highlight my family. There's pictures of me, mommy, daddy, and my doggies. My favorite trip was the trip I took from Palm Springs to Iowa City with my two grans!

Boppy Visit
Boppy came and visited me while daddy was on his long bike ride. We had a great time playing in the garden, visiting Petra my owl, and going to the museum. Here I am in my zinia dress, checking out some zinias at the farmer's market.
While Boppy was here, we attended my friend Reagan's brithday party. We went to the city park and played on the rides, including the train and . . . .
the planes!
I will post more later this week!
