Make Like a Tree and Leave

Another milestone for Sophie!  This is it: the first time I jumped into a pile of leaves that daddy was raking.  It is as cool as everyone says.  Soft and crunchy, they are messy in a fun way.  It was a perfect day for raking leaves: warm, sunny, and mid-fall.  Living next to a forest, we have it both easy and hard.  It's hard because the sheer number of trees drop a ton of leaves.  But it's easy because most of the leaves land in the forest where they don't need to be picked up.  And those that do land on the lawn are swept back into the forest to help keep our trees healthy and our animals happy!

Sophie,
What fun! It looks like you are swimming through a sea of leaves. I love jumping on a pile of leaves - the sound of the crunching leaves, the many colors coming together forming a quilt of colors with each leaf being completely different from the others. We have lots of leaves for you at Spring Creek!
Love, Ada

Sophie,
Kick the leaves! Fall is my favorite time- I love the colors. Your Dad and Uncles Chris and Kurt loved to play in the leaves, too.

Fall gives us grapes, nuts, pumpkins, gourds and lots of apples. Everything is mellow and soft.
Love, gran
