The Tooth Shall Set You Free

I finally have a tooth! It's not much, but its a start. Its in the lower part of my front jaw. It's short, but broad, as if both incisors came up together. Right now, it's just causing problems becuase I bite my lip or I grab my tooth becuase I am not used to having anything in there.

But its getting much better every day and soon I will be able to use my teeth to bite things! I look forward to chomping on a whole banana like I saw my cousin Harper do. That was way cool.

My menu in general is getting pretty broad. I tried eggs for the first time last week. Not bad. My latest favorite food is dried apples. They're chewy and tasty and smell great. Any given dinner I eat bread, cheese, lentils, macaroni, water, bananas, peaches, roasted vegetables, and maybe a little chicken.

Tomorrow is the first farmer's market of the year (YAY!), so daddy and mommy and I are going to buy asparagus and lettuce and anything else that's fresh. I can't wait!

Congratulations on the tooth! Nicole and I just caught up on Sophie's blog. The pictures in Italy are amazing. It sounds like the family had a great time. Though, I bet dad loved the gelato as much or more than Sophie.

Hi Sophie,
I am so excited it has almost been a year since you started your blog- so much to say about so many wonderful things. A tooth will certainly set you free! Your cousin Kate is so excited to meet you - what a great time we will have celebrating birthdays and graduations. You'll love the gardens and trees on the Princeton campus.
I have a poem for you about a mithing tooth which is a lot like having just onth tooth- enjoy!
Mithing Tooth
I'm having trouble thpeaking,
thinthe I lotht my middle tooth.
Jutht yethterday my tooth wath fine --
today it wiggled loothe.

At firtht I thought it thilly,
when my tooth fell out today,
But no one theems to underthtand
a thingle word I thay.

I athked my mom to clothe the door,
she thaid "That would be rude.
The door does not like wearing clothes;
it's happy in the nude."

I thaid a mouthe wath in my room
and she should come and thee.
She thaid "your mouth is on your face;
it's right where it should be."

I wonder if you underthtand
the thircumthtanthe I'm in.
I told her I wath feeling thick.
She thaid "you're looking thin."

At latht she thaw how mad I wath,
And thought I might thtop breathing.
She laughed and thaid she didn't mean it --
She wath only teething.
