The Koi Pond

I have actually found something almost as fascinating as trees: fish!

Grandad and Boppy have a koi pond in their back yard and on Sunday before we left to go back home I sat by the edge and stared at the fish. I could have done it for hours- they were just mesmerizing. Daddy understands being fascinated with marine life, since he studied Marine Biology in college.

It's not just the koi pond. I also like the fish in the tanks at the takanami restaurant and at mommy's clinic in the hospital. I also have this really cool toy aquarium complete with magnetic fish (see right)

While we were at the koi pond, we all took Christmas portraits with the grandparents. But I was so distracted by all the wonderful trees and beautiful fish that I couldn't look directly at the camera!

What a wonderful day you had at the pond! I am not surprised that you enjoy the Koi Pond - it simply follows that you are a nature girl, tree hugger who undrestands and loves all things natural. I think we should show Sophie an "Inconvenient Truth" so she can join her uncles in preparation to save the world.
I think we need to add another song (a favorite of Sophie's Dad when he was little)
A variation on Creedence Clearwater- for Sophie by Ada...
Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was good friend of mine.
I never understood a single word he said but I helped him drink
his wine. He always had some mighty fine wine. Sing it
Joy to the
world...all the boys and girls now , joy to the fishies in the deep blue
sea and joy to you and me.

And if i were the Queen of the world , i tell you what i would do. Id throw
away the cars and the bars in the world and id save the trees for you.
Sing it now : Joy to the the world , all the boys and girls , joy to the fishies
in the deep blue sea , joy to you and me.

Yah know I love the trees , love to have my fun ... Im a hard knock
flyer and a rain bow rider ... a straight shootin, tree huggin fun for all, kind of a gal , i said a
straight shootin tree huggin kind of a gal.

Joy to the world , all the boys and girls , joy to all the fishies in the
deep blue sea , joy to you and me.

One more time...

Joy to the world , all the boys and girls , joy to the world , joy to you
and me.
