A funny thing happened a couple weeks ago. I actually noticed my sisters! They have been aware of me since I arrived home from the hospital- sniffing me, watching me, and sleeping under my bed. But I was only vaguely aware of their presence; a lick to the top of the head or a tickle at my toes.
But suddenly one day, I stared at Denali and smiled. It was a very special moment. All at once, I had finally grasped the comnplex and abstract concept of existance other than human- beings other than Mommy, Daddy, Gran, or Grammie. Since then, my sisters and I have a blast together, especially when I play on my mat in the living room. I will roll around, getting their attention, then laugh when creep up to me to give me a sniff. They are so funny! I reached for 'Nali yesterday and grabbed her ear. It was so soft! She didn't seem to mind at all. But when I reached for Skye today, she backed off. I guess she's still a little skittish about my touching her. That's OK- she'll get used to it!
Here's a video of me on my mat!

The photo of Soph and Ali is fantastic- just wonderful- I want a copy!! And the video- its the Sophie dance- I think it will catch on. It has been soo much fun helping Mom and Dad take care of you. Love, Gran
Dear Sophie, Denali and Skye,
It is a rare moment when Ada is speechless. Looking at the picture of you and Nali makes me want to skip through fields of flowers, dance the skies, climb the local mountains with Evie running by my side and bask in the sun-split clouds.
Seeing you with Nali reminds me of Aunt Jenny with Chrissie (Nali's auntie) and Chrissie with your cousin Laura. When you get a bit older you will be able to take Nali for walks around the house - Nali will fly footless through the house as she happily follows (and gently guides) you through the wonders of your home. The stairs become the Alps, the family room is your cabin, your bedroom your classroom (Nali and Skye will always be the students) and the screened porch your safari tent. You will read to Nali and she will never correct you, but will hang on your every word- Nali and Skye will love you in ways that only they can.
Your relationship with Nali and Skye is closer to the core of the human experience than anything I can think of.
I have loved very picture that your mommy and daddy have posted on your blog, but the picture of you and Nali will always be dear to my heart.
The count down continues to Camp Spring Creek-
I love you!!!
