I love blueberries!

I know I haven't written in almost a month. We will fix that over the next few weeks. Moving has kept us VERY busy. I went to the Farmer's Market with daddy yesterday and got a really yummy blueberry pastry. After inhaling it, I had most of it on my face!

Here's a nice picture from the garden. These chives have all faded now, but we are harvesting all the herbs for dinner each night. Last night we had potatoes with chervil, marjoram, and dill. Yummy!

Paws of Approval

This is our new living room- it looks even better with the furniture in it! Skye and Denali obviously are quite comfortable here already.

Skye's official spot is on a fur blanket by the window at the end of the new "Sophie Sofa". She has had no problems adjusting to the new couch. Since it is a leather couch, we want her to keep her claws away from the surface. We put her favorite blanket at one end of the sofa and Skye figured it out right away. She hasn't left that blanket yet!

Granmimi will be happy to know that I am way ahead of schedule toward becoming a junior handler. I have been walking Skye since we moved into the new house. I am getting used to calling out "heel" and "here, Skye" to keep her nearby. I love it!

It's done! (sort of)

This is it! The interior of Lake Pointe is essentially done. We have more work on the outside, but we will be moving in this week. I was so excited about the house I was running around in circles, making laps in this amazing living room / dining room / kitchen.
In the picture above, the kitchen is to the right, the dining room is in the foreground, and the TV is by the "Sophie Sofa" in the back.

Here's the cool TV where daddy and I will watch basketball and football.

Looking down the great room from the enormous kitchen with the monstrous island (we have dubbed a continent, not an island!)

cool looking kitchen, huh? We will be eating all our meals at that island . . . er . . . continent.

Mommy loves our stainless steel appliances. inlcluding the sub-zero fridge. I was a little intimiated by the sound of the fan from the giant hood, but I am getting used to it.

Here is my room- still the best room in the house!

here's my playroom. Cluttered right now, but soon to be organized with all my favorite toys. The best, of course, is the new doll house in the place of honor in the center.

Here is mommy and daddy's room

And here's their bathroom and wonderful cherry tree mural

Animal Hats

Just for fun, mommy and I dressed my stuffed animals in hats. Maybe their ears were cold. Maybe they felt like dressing up and look sharp in hats. Maybe we hadn't used the winter attire in too long and needed to put it to good use. For whatever the reason, we thought it was really funny!

Then I gathered all the animals on the floor a snuggled with them. 'Nali thought I looked very comfortable and got jealous of the stuffed animals. She would prefer that I snuggle with her on the floor!

I've got people!

Monday was my second birthday. It was very cool- everyone was very nice to me and gave me yummy things to eat and gave me cards and presents. I ran around all weekend singing "Happy Birthday to Sophie". I would be happy to have a birthday every day, but daddy says I have to wait a whole year for another one.
When I woke up on my birthday morning, mommy and daddy handed me a beautifully wrapped present (Frank Lloyd Wright designed paper with a lovely yellow ribbon). It was a family of dolls: Mommy, Daddy, Sophie, and a boy. I said "Ooh! People!" I was so excited I took the mommy doll to school to show my friends and teachers.
When school was over, daddy picked me up and said we were meeting mommy at Lakepointe. Cool! We got there, went downstairs, and opened the playroom door. There, standing before me was the coolest dollhouse I have ever seen. I immediately said, "Ooh! For the people!" and started playing right away. I was so happy I ran laps around the play table!
I can't wait to show the house to Gran and Ada and Chelsie and all my friends! I love having birthdays.

The Range of Light

Mommy and daddy have been coming to Mammoth since they were little children.  Mommy would spend summers here fishing and daddy would come up all year around, but mostly in the winter to ski.  For my second birthday, I got to visit here for the first time.

We met up with Grammie and Grandad in Palm Springs and gave them and their westie Camryn a ride to Mammoth.  They haven't been here since Kristi was a teenager!  After a very long but very nostalgic drive up 395, we arrived at the condo.  I was so excited to be here I ran around the place laughing and jumping for joy.
My cake for my second birthday!  YUM!
Daddy suggested I build a pillow fort in the living room.  Cool idea, daddy!  I laughed the whole time.  Note to future babysitters: building pillow forts is always a good idea for an activity

We took Camryn for a walk to chair 15, where I will be learning to ski starting in a year or two.  Daddy showed me the magic carpet and the poma lift that will carry me up the hill in ski school.  We found a small patch of snow clinging to its spring existence.  I was surprised by the cold sensation and laughed!  Camryn just licked it!

On the first morning here we went to the classic Stove for breakfast.  Daddy took a picture of me on the rock outside that he remembers climbing when he was young.

Lakepointe in Bloom!

As the workmen hurry to finish Lakepointe before we move in next month, the garden is starting to bloom. The tulips are gorgeous! I planted them back in October and I think they turned out great! I can't wait to plant more this fall.

Here's the herb and veggie garden. The chives all have flower buds ready to pop, so they will be covered with pretty purple flowers within a week or two. Off to the right is some sort of flowering ground cover (flox?)

Not all the blooms in Lakepointe are outside; the tile layers finished a mural of cherry blossoms on mommy and daddy's bathroom wall. It looks great! We will be able to enjoy that view all year long!
